Inspectors

Managing the inspector roster, active/inactive status, and seat billing.

Inspectors are the people who performed the inspections — the names that appear on reports and in the homeowner-facing intake form. This is separate from your team, which is the office staff who log into Callback HQ.

Adding inspectors

Go to Settings > Inspectors to manage your roster. To add an inspector, enter:

  • Name— as it appears on inspection reports
  • Email— optional
  • License number — optional

Each active inspector counts as a billable seat on your subscription.

Active vs. inactive

Active inspectors appear in the intake form dropdown and count toward your seat billing.

Inactive (“former”) inspectors are shown greyed out and tagged “former” in the intake form dropdown. Homeowners can still select them for complaints about past inspections.

Mark inspectors as inactive instead of deleting them. Home inspection callbacks can come in years after the inspection — a four-year callback window is common — so the name needs to remain selectable in the intake form.

Seat billing sync

Your subscription quantity automatically matches the number of active inspectors. The Settings > Inspectors page shows your active inspector count alongside your billed seat count so you can verify they match.

When you activate or deactivate an inspector, the subscription updates automatically — no manual adjustment needed.
